Meet Sharon Mahoney

I love to learn and have a passion for sharing my experiences with others. I have always enjoyed a glass of wine after a long day of work; however, it wasn’t until my first wine course that I was engaged to learn more! You may not be as interested in terroir or vine management as I am; however, I promise to share stories and experiences that will help you understand and appreciate what is in your glass!

The wine world is vast, and just like there are many varietals of wine, there are many certifications you can earn to enhance your knowledge. I did the research as I was starting my wine studies and decided to follow the path of BOTH the service and education side of wine and spirits.

You can learn more about my path and studies in my blog, however, I am proud to say that I am a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. A Diploma candidate through Wine and Spirits Education Trust. Upon successful completion of Diploma, I plan on enrolling in the Master of Wine program (only 450 in the world!) I am an active member of the Society of Wine Educators pursuing their certifications and enrolled with several programs through Wine Scholar Guild.

Learning is endless and for that reason, I am currently studying several additional courses with the intent to share the information in a fun and informative manner! I attend wine conferences and master classes around the world. I love to share stories from the winemakers, producers, and other educators during my sessions. From quick courses to deep dives, Events By The Glass is here for you!

My goal is to have my guests be energized and engaged with every course or event they attend. The world of wine is vast, and I encourage you to try new grape varieties and wines from around the world!

Please join me in raising a glass, share a story or two, and enjoy!! May every glass be better than the last!

Cheers!

Sharon
